ModInfo 1.0 and ModServer 1.0
by Erik Lindberg
Introduction:
-------------
ModInfo and ModServer is two AREXX scripts to use with AmIRC. Their
purpose is to enhance the IRC experience for Mod freaks. ModInfo is a little
script for telling everyone what mod you're playing at the moment. ModServer
is a script for fetching and querying about modules.
Requirements:
-------------
AmIRC
AREXX
LhA
Hippoplayer or Delitracker
(Mods Anthology and a CDRom for the neat features)
Contents:
---------
This readme
ModInfo.amirx
ModServer.amirx
Authornames.txt (Only useful if you've got Mods Anthology)
Groupnames.txt (Only useful if you've got Mods Anthology)
Installation:
-------------
1. Copy the scripts and the names.txt files to the AmIRC rexx directory
(preferably). You can keep them elsewhere if you like.
2. Edit the authorpath in both ModInfo.amirx and ModServer.amirx to the
location you keep the #?names.txt files.
3. In ModServer.amirx, edit ownnick to your own and temppath to where
you want to keep the lha files you're gonna send.
4. In AmIRC, change CTCP request in Setup/Events to: ModServer.amirx %p and
in Setup/Actions you can have ModInfo on a label and the operation
/rx ModInfo.amirx on it.
5. Finished!!!
Usage:
------
When you push the button labeled ModInfo something like this will appear:
«Action» | Shades is playing art of undulation by: Fash.
That is if you use Delitracker and Mods Anthology. The output when using
Hippoplayer is something like this:
«Action» | Shades is playing art of undulation size: 203K
The ModServer will act like a server where people can see what module you
are playing. The command is /ctcp yournick modinfo. The output from that
query will be msg:ed to that person.
They will alse be able to fetch modules, both packed and unpacked. The
command to use is /ctcp yournick getmod and /ctcp yournick getmodunpack.
Bugs:
-----
Hmmm... Well... It seems that modnames with spaces in them will cause
trouble with the getmod command.
